KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Golf carts, ATV’s and UTV’s are welcome at Iron City, however, drivers must be 16 years old to operate and the owner will be required to purchase a $25 pit vehicle sticker.
All motorized vehicles need to be parked in a pit area at midnight.
The talented graphics folks do a GREAT job for individual drivers and the karts look awesome however, the officials and scoring staff have a difficult time reading some kart numbers. Therefore, every kart must have a rear BLACK plate with WHITE numbers in a plain font OR a WHITE plate with BLACK numbers in a plain font. AKA – mailbox numbers.
Drivers meeting is mandatory for ALL drivers. Junior drivers will need to bring an adult pit crew member. We will do a roll call.
Tires will be distributed and scanned Saturday at 7:15 a.m. Trailer is located outside of turn 2. Drivers must register and pay before picking up tires.
Borderline age junior drivers must pick one age group. A twelve-year-old must pick Jr2 or Jr3, cannot race both. A fifteen-year-old must choose between adult or junior, cannot race both.
Birth Certificates – if requested, the original must be shown.
We will qualify in groups. Your group is determined by a pill draw. All drivers will draw at registration when picking up a scoring transponder.
Missing your group will result in a no time for qualifying. The grid stewart is there to help.
Main event – the grid stewart will sound a horn, a 90 second clock will begin; each driver must be in kart, starting position, and ready to roll onto the track. If not in starting position, the driver will start in the rear.
Race Monitor app is a courtesy provided by the scoring staff for entertainment purposes only and cannot be used in determining official results.
Cell phone video cannot be used to determine official results.
Rookies – beginners who are learning. This is NOT a championship class. No invitation is needed. Trophies to the top three and plaques to the remainder of the field.
Gas for the clone engines can be purchased
ZERO tolerance for foul language to the flagman, grid workers, corner flagman, and tech. A police officer will escort the individuals to the gate.
Expired time limit/yellow flag – Should a caution occur after the time limit has expired, the track will be cleared of the caution, all karts will be lined up according to the last completed lap and take the checkered flag under caution.
All classes must complete half of the race, plus one lap, within the time limit for a championship. For example – if the feature race is 20 laps, then the class must complete 11 of the 20, within a twenty-minute time limit.
We use WKA tech rules.
The gate will close at 9:00 p.m. sharp, Friday. After 9:00 p.m., a security officer will direct to a temporary parking spot for the night.
Quiet time in the pits begins at 12:00 a.m. on Friday night and Saturday night.
Quiet time Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for the Sunday morning devotion time.
Golf carts, ATV’s and UTV’s are welcome, however, drivers must be 16 years old to operate.
We have the right to refuse gate entry for any individual.
Saturday
Tire distribution for ALL classes.
Qualifying for ALL classes.
Top 16 qualifiers will lock in for the Junior classes.
Top 20 qualifiers lock in for the Adult classes.
All B Mains will be on Saturday.
Four drivers will be transferred from B Main to National Championship class.
Drivers will accumulate points based on qualifying positions.
Sunday
Championship main events for ALL classes.
Drivers will accumulate points based on their finish.
Sunday awards for each class champion – champions banner, checkered flag, champions hat, National Championship backpack for juniors.
Tires will be given to ⅓ of the field up to 5th place (Example: a class of 15 karts will pay: 2nd Place – 2 sets, 3rd place – 1 set, 4th place – 2 HT3 9.00’s, 5th place – 2 HT3 9.00’s) TIRES MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE TRACK. WE WILL NOT SHIP.
National Championship Banquet – January 20, 2024
The top 3 from each class will be invited to the National Championship Banquet. Each champion will receive an orange leather jacket, ring, and trophy. If a driver wins 2 or more championship, they will be awarded one jacket with a double or triple crown. Second and third place will receive a trophy.
The overall Junior National Champion XVI and the overall Senior National Champion XVI will be the drivers with the highest points accumulated; using the combined totals from qualifying and main event finishes (2 class combination). Awards include a special trophy given at the event; a driving suit and ring will be awarded at the banquet.
